The short answer
The Coldture Classic is an inflatable drop-stitch tub sold with the Chiller Pro, which cools to 37°F and heats to 104°F. The tub draws few complaints. The chiller draws many: owners on r/coldplunge describe units dead on arrival, failed pumps and slow support, on a one-year warranty. Think twice, and if you buy, buy where a return is easy.

What this review is based on
We have not used a Coldture Classic. This review is research-based. The specs, prices and policies are the maker’s, read on coldture.com on 6 October 2026. The owner reports come from fourteen threads on the r/coldplunge forum, dated September 2024 to July 2026, and from the maker’s Trustpilot page.
Two cautions about those threads. One account posts short praise of Coldture in thread after thread, and one account that attacks it says it used to sell the products. We have left both out and counted the owners who describe their own unit.
Coldture is a Canadian company and its site showed us prices in Canadian dollars. Check the price in your own currency before comparing. Our picks across every type are in the best cold plunge tubs, and other air-walled tubs are in inflatable cold plunge tubs.
Coldture Classic specs
The Coldture Classic is a lay-down tub with 4 in inflatable walls, sold alone or with the maker’s chiller.
| Classic tub | Chiller Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price, Canadian dollars | $999 | $3,499 |
| As a bundle | $3,999 for both | |
| Size | 63 × 29.5 × 26.3 in | 24.2 in long, 66.1 lb |
| Capacity | 400 litres, about 106 gal | Not applicable |
| Build | 4 in PVC drop-stitch, inflatable | Cools and heats |
| Temperature range | Not applicable | 37 to 104°F |
| Cooling capacity | Not applicable | 2,490 W |
| Power | Not applicable | 120 V, 8 A, 850 W average draw |
| Filter | Not applicable | 20 micron |
| In the box | Hand pump, insulated cover | Not stated on the page we read |
| Warranty | 1 year | 1 year |
The stated capacity passes our sum. Take 4 in off each wall and the floor, and the inside is about 55 × 21.5 × 22.3 in. That is 26,370 cubic inches, or 114 gallons to the brim, so 106 is believable. Full, the water weighs about 884 lb by our maths, at 8.34 lb a gallon.
The chiller’s cooling capacity is the useful number, and Coldture is one of the few makers that prints one. 2,490 W is about 8,500 BTU an hour by our conversion. By the sum in chiller sizing, that takes 100 gallons from 70°F to 50°F in about two hours at best.
Maker says, owners say
| Maker says | Owners say | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the chiller is made | “Built in-house” | Three commenters say it comes from an outside factory in China. We could not check either claim |
| Noise | “Whisper-quiet” | One owner’s chiller on a deck “vibrates the whole house” when cooling, with a high whine between cycles |
| Cold weather | Works outdoors down to 14°F | One owner’s unit switched itself off at 23°F and froze, hoses included. It worked again after thawing indoors for days |
| The app | “Coldture app and remote temperature control” | Four owners call it poor: it drops the connection, logs you out and misses schedules |
| Support | “Canadian in-house support team” | Replies in three to five days, by one owner. Others report weeks without a fix |
| Warranty | 1 year on the tub and on the chiller | One owner saw two years in the marketing and one on the site |
What owners complain about
The chiller is the story. We counted the owners in these threads who describe a fault with their own Coldture chiller, and reached at least twelve.
- Dead or faulty on arrival. Four owners. One had an error code “right out of the box” and no timeline for a replacement. One found a cable clipped off inside and soldered it himself. Two who bought through Costco were sent new chillers.
- Pumps and flow. Five owners report a failed pump, a flow-rate shutdown or a chiller that will not start. One Pro Plunge owner had the pump replaced with a refurbished one, and it failed again two weeks later.
- Leaks. Three owners, one on the second day of a $5,000 purchase.
- Long waits under warranty. One owner says his chiller was down for four to five months while under warranty and broken “more than it has worked”.
- Corroded lines. One owner’s inlet and outlet lines corroded and broke at five months. He says the manual calls for a descaling flush every three to six months, and that the maker would not replace them.
The fixes were not all slow. One owner near the maker dropped his chiller off and had it back quickly. Another had a leak and flow problem repaired under warranty in two weeks.
Two smaller complaints recur.
- The tub bows in the middle. One owner’s Classic deformed after a year, and at least three more see the same. Owners fix it by topping up the air or running a strap round the middle. The maker told the first owner it is normal.
- The app. One owner gave up on it and paired the chiller with a generic smart-home app, which he says works better.
Against all that, two owners report a year or more with no fault, and one says the tub and chiller are “pretty decent if you can get one shipped to you without any issues”.
What Trustpilot shows
Coldture’s Trustpilot page has a score of 4.2 from 118 reviews: 77% five-star and 18% one-star. That is a split profile. A company with few unhappy buyers does not collect one-star reviews at nearly one in five.
The recent five-star reviews mostly praise named staff for a sale or a repair. One four-star review describes a motherboard failure on a Pro Plunge that needed a costly repair. Several of the lowest ratings are about its saunas and not its tubs.
The warranty and the return
- Warranty: one year on the tub and one year on the Chiller Pro, by the product page. For a $3,499 chiller that is short, and it is the same term we marked down in our Plunge chiller review.
- Warranty shipping: the maker pays, provided you kept the original packaging. Keep the box.
- Return: within 30 days of delivery, with a 15% restocking fee when the product is not damaged or defective. On the bundle that is about $600.
- One owner’s experience: he was quoted a 30% fee when he asked to return a chiller, against the 15% in the policy.
Several owners bought through Costco for its return policy, and one returned his there. If you buy a Coldture, that is the route the threads point to.
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Buy it if you want one unit that both chills and heats, you have somewhere to return it without a fee, and you are willing to chase support if the chiller faults.
Skip it if you expect a $3,999 bundle to work untouched for a year. That is what one owner said he expected, and it is a fair expectation the reports do not support.
The alternative costs far less. A drop-stitch tub or a soft pod with chiller valves, and a standalone chiller whose maker states its capacity, come to a fraction of the bundle and can be replaced one part at a time. The chillers are compared in the best cold plunge chillers. One owner in these threads passed on a used Coldture and built a cooler with a bare chiller, which is the build in the Grizzly cold plunge.
Common questions
Is Coldture a good cold plunge?
The tub draws few complaints. The Chiller Pro draws many on r/coldplunge, where at least twelve owners describe a fault, against a one-year warranty. Its Trustpilot reviews are 77% five-star and 18% one-star.
How cold does the Coldture Classic get?
The maker states 37°F for the Chiller Pro, and 104°F when heating. One owner runs his at 39 to 42°F.
Is Coldture sold on Amazon?
We found no Coldture listing on Amazon in October 2026. Owners in the threads bought from the maker’s site and from Costco.
Why does the Coldture tub bow out in the middle?
Owners put it down to air pressure. The walls are inflatable, and pressure drops with the temperature. Topping up the air fixed it for two of them.
