What this site is

Cold Plunge Tub is an independent review site for cold plunge equipment you use at home: tubs, water chillers, and the parts for building your own. A cold plunge tub and an ice bath tub are the same thing, a tub you fill with cold water, usually between 39 and 59°F, and sit in for a few minutes. We use both names.

We don’t make or sell any of it. Most of what ranks for these products is written by the brands that sell them, and a brand’s blog is not going to tell you its own drain valve leaks.

Who writes it

Everything here is written and checked by the Cold Plunge Tub team, and published under the site’s name.

We are not medical professionals. When a page says something about what cold water does to the body, it links to the study or medical source behind the claim, and it does not promise a treatment.

How we review

Our reviews are built from research. We read the maker’s specs, the manual, the warranty and what owners report, and we mark every figure with where it came from. We have not tested the products ourselves, and no page says we have. The full method is on how we review.

What we cover

  • Tubs. Inflatable, portable, barrel, stainless steel and all-in-one tubs, with who each type suits.
  • Chillers. What size you need, what they cost to run, and when one pays for itself against buying ice.
  • DIY. Building a cold plunge from a stock tank, a cooler or a chest freezer.
  • Guides. How cold, how long, how much ice, and what it all costs. They are in the guides.

We don’t cover saunas, hot tubs, spas or commercial plunge pools.
